The Tool Crib Software from Brain is designed to help industries to keep control over the use of tools, consumption of spare parts and even over office goods. 

The software advises when an item is out of stock and keeps the average cost, the last cost and the higher cost. This information can be used to estimate the cost of repossessing the tool crib inventory. Point of reorder is used for suggesting the quantity to repossess.

Spare Parts

The spare parts consumption is registered to a Production Order, Line, Process or to an equipment.

The software helps to define who can take away spare parts. i.e. only personnel from support can take away spare parts for this line/process/equipment.

You can limit the quantity or monetary amount of expensive or controlled items that can be taken away, requesting the authorization of a Supervisor or a Team Leader

The printed receipt –that you can modify- shows the location of the goods and any other information that can help manage the use of the spare parts.

Tools

You can control the status of the tools checked out by technicians to support a line or department and then charge the cost (units of cost like hours) to that department or line.

You can list the tools in use and when returned to Tool Crib, make them available for future use. 

Standard reports are already defined and you can modify them or add more.

Consumable Goods

The consumable goods are registered to a Department or Line. Only personnel assigned to that Department or Line can take away goods.

The software helps to define who can take away spare parts. i.e. only personnel from Accounting can take away goods for this department.

You can limit the quantity or monetary amount of expensive or controlled items that can be consumed, requesting the authorization of a Supervisor or a Team Leader.

If an item is no available, you can add it to a ‘backorder’ list to be reviewed later.  The software helps you to make a purchase list based in the reorder point for each inventory item based on the last, higher and average prices.

Main features are:

• Runs on Windows 7, 8 and 10. 32 and 64 bit versions are available.
• The system uses MS-SQL Server, although it can be modified to use Oracle or almost any other relational database.
• Custom modifications and source code are available. A modified Software as a Service (SaaS) model is available.
